When Pam was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, she feared she would be unable to care for her partially blind son, Grant. But despite all the challenges they faced together, they always managed to make it through.
Until, that is, Pam found she could no longer safely use her car's pedals—and discovered that adapting her car for hand controls would cost far more than she could afford. As a result, Pam was forced to downgrade to a learner's permit. And for the next six months, she and her son became almost entirely housebound, living as virtual prisoners in their own home.
It's to help in situations like this that Multiple Sclerosis Limited created our Financial Assistance Program—the unique service that helps people like Pam reclaim dignity and freedom by helping towards the cost of equipment and adaptations they couldn't otherwise afford.
Thanks to a grant from the program, Pam was able to adapt her car and she and her son are now able to access the world outside their home again. But hundreds of men and women still need our help. And because the Financial Assistance Program is entirely funded by donations, we need your help to give it.
Please give a gift to Multiple Sclerosis Limited this Christmas, and help us protect the right of people like Pam to live with as much freedom and dignity as multiple sclerosis will allow.
